Psychosynthesis
My practice of psychotherapy is influenced by the theory and techniques of Psychosynthesis. This is a school of psychotherapy which has been responsible for pioneering some of the most important current trends in the field. It believes in the inherent goodness of people; that they possess an infinite amount of potential for growth which can lead to the development positive qualities, such as love, inner peace, compassion and creativity.
It has a large tool box of techniques that helps people discover themselves and explores what is blocking their growth. Some of these techniques include: guided imagery, inner child work, mind-body coordination, meditation and goal setting.
I had the opportunity to study with one of the pioneers of this discipline, Martha Crampton, PhD. She was a pioneer of Psychosynthesis in North America. She studied with Roberto Assagioli, MD in Italy who was the founder of Psychosynthesis.
Its goal is to help the people remove the obstacles that get in the way of their growth and to guide them to reaching the life of their “dreams”.
